How's dey made, Where'Ya
Get 'Em, And Waddya do Wit' 'Em?
How D'ya Make a Bagel Then?
Our bagels is made differently to bread. The dough's made the day before and we rise it slowly to develop the flavour and dense, doughy texture. And we use high-protein flour – so's they's not all thin and squashy like white bread! Old-fashioned boiled bagels go hard within a few hours so ours is steam-baked to keep 'em fresh longer.
Where to Put Them Bagels At Home
COEN Bros.® Bagels is best stored in their plastic bag at room temp, or in da freezer. If you put 'em in the fridge they go hard – so don't do it unless you wanna stun bun! If you ain't gonna eat 'em within a coupla days of buying them, you can freeze 'em for up to a month. To thaw just zap 'em in one of those new-fangled microwaves (high for 20 secs) and you'll get a bagel which tastes like it's come straight outta the oven. Or slice 'em before you freeze 'em, then put straight into da toaster.
An' you be careful when you slice 'em, ok? Lay 'em flat - don't stand 'em up or the knife'll slip and ya cut yourself. And then we's rightly call ya a klutz.
Where Can Ya Get 'em?
We at COEN Bros.® wanna keep our bagels exclusive, we
don't want just anybody to have'em. So you'll only find them
in these fine establishments: Foodtown, Woolworths, and Countdown
stores. And dere where ya expect ta find da freshest bagels
- in da bakery department. Look for me an'
Rube's handsome faces on the green COEN Bros.® label.
All over Noo Zealand.
